Refrigerator Compressor Blast or Electrical Short Circuit Suspected in Jalandhar Fire That Killed Six of a Family

Jalandhar (Gurpreet Singh): A devastating fire at a house in Alley No. 12, Avatar Nagar, Jalandhar, claimed the lives of six members of a family, including three children. Preliminary police findings suggest that a refrigerator compressor explosion or an electrical short circuit may have triggered the blaze. The exact cause of the incident remains under investigation.
The deceased have been identified as Yashpal Ghai, his son Indrapal Ghai, daughter-in-law Ruchi Ghai, and three children, Diya, Mansha and Akshay. The tragic incident has left the neighbourhood in shock and mourning following the loss of six members of the same family.
According to preliminary information, the fire may have started due to a malfunction involving the refrigerator compressor or an electrical fault inside the house. Yashpal Ghai’s wife, Balbir Kaur, survived the tragedy because she was outside the house when the incident occurred. Her survival comes amid the devastating loss of her husband, son, daughter-in-law and three children.
