Haryana Irrigation Minister Shruti Choudhry Directs Officials To Resolve Pending Issues In Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri

Chandigarh (Balwinder SSingh): Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Choudhry has directed officials to resolve pending irrigation-related issues in Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri on a priority basis and accelerate ongoing development projects.

During a review meeting in Chandigarh on Wednesday, the minister assessed irrigation problems, ongoing projects and proposed works in the two districts. She instructed officials to address bottlenecks promptly and ensure that approved projects are completed within their stipulated timelines.

The meeting was attended by officials from the LWS and YWS circles in Bhiwani, with discussions focusing on issues affecting the progress of irrigation infrastructure and related works.

Forest Clearances, Water Theft And Encroachments Reviewed

The review covered pending forest clearances, measures to prevent water theft, land alignment issues and encroachments. Choudhry said delays in approvals and the resolution of administrative or land-related issues should not unnecessarily hold up development work.

She directed officials to take the necessary steps to clear pending matters so that projects could move forward smoothly. Coordination among departments and timely action were highlighted as important to improving implementation.

The minister also reviewed irrigation-related issues and proposed development works in the Loharu, Bhiwani, Tosham, Bawani Khera and Badhra Assembly constituencies.

Officials were asked to identify unresolved problems, take corrective action and monitor ongoing projects regularly to ensure progress against deadlines.

Flood Protection And Maintenance Works Under Review

Choudhry reviewed flood protection and maintenance works undertaken during the past three years. She called for the necessary follow-up action and better planning for the future to strengthen flood preparedness and ensure the timely execution of protection measures.

The review also focused on maintaining irrigation infrastructure effectively. Timely maintenance and advance planning are important for reducing the risk of delays in flood protection work and ensuring that irrigation systems remain functional.

The minister directed officials to assess the requirements of the affected areas and prepare plans that support the timely implementation of approved works.

Farmers’ Irrigation Needs Remain A Priority

Choudhry said strengthening the irrigation system, improving water resource management and providing relief to farmers facing irrigation-related problems were among the government’s priorities.

She asked officials to work in coordination, keep a regular watch on project progress and give precedence to works connected with public interest.

The review comes as the department assesses pending issues and infrastructure requirements across the Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri areas. The minister’s directions emphasised faster resolution of bottlenecks, stronger monitoring and improved planning for irrigation and flood protection projects.
