Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated a statue of Maharaja Shoorsaini in Ladwa on Tuesday, with the project developed at a cost of approximately Rs 98 lakh by the state’s Urban Local Bodies Department.
The statue has been installed along the Kurukshetra-Yamunanagar road in Ladwa. The site has also been developed with decorative lighting, landscaping and a park, according to the state government.
Speaking at the inauguration, Saini described Maharaja Shoorsaini as a warrior, capable administrator and just ruler whose legacy offered lessons in public service, courage and fairness. He said the government was working to preserve the legacy of historical figures and saints through statues, memorials and buildings across Haryana.

What Is Special About The Maharaja Shoorsaini Statue In Ladwa?
The project includes more than the installation of the statue. The surrounding area has been beautified and developed as a public space, with lighting and landscaping intended to improve its appearance and accessibility.
According to Saini, the statue would give Ladwa a prominent cultural landmark and encourage younger generations to learn about Maharaja Shoorsaini and the values associated with his legacy.
The chief minister also said Maharaja Shoorsaini Chowk had been developed as a model intersection by the Ladwa Municipal Committee, with attention given to safety, lighting, beautification and traffic management.
The government expects the landmark to contribute to the town’s visual appeal and support local tourism. The announcement, however, did not specify projected visitor numbers or a timeline for measuring its tourism impact.
What Did Nayab Singh Saini Say About Maharaja Shoorsaini?
Saini said Maharaja Shoorsaini was remembered for his leadership and efforts to serve the people during his reign. He described the ruler’s legacy as a source of inspiration for truth, justice and public welfare.
