Amit Shah’s Mansa Visit Triggers Tight Security; 3,000 Police Personnel Deployed

Mansa (Gurpreet Singh): Security has been significantly tightened in Punjab’s Mansa district ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit on Tuesday, with around 3,000 police personnel assigned to maintain law and order. Authorities have also designated a two-kilometre area covering the new grain market and the residence of slain anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota as a Red Zone, banning drone operations in the restricted area.

According to the arrangements, Shah is scheduled to meet Jhota’s family during his visit to Mansa. The meeting is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.

The Home Minister will arrive at a temporary helipad established at the new grain market before travelling directly to the family’s residence. Following the meeting, he is expected to return to the helipad and depart for his next engagement. Officials have indicated that no other locations in Mansa are included in his itinerary.

The district administration has imposed the drone restrictions as part of precautionary security measures surrounding the high-profile visit. The substantial police deployment is intended to ensure that the programme proceeds without disruption.

Shah to attend Dasehra celebrations in Ludhiana

After his Mansa programme, Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Ludhiana to participate in Dasehra celebrations at Daresi Grounds.

He is expected to land at Halwara Air Force Station at around 4.30 pm on Tuesday. An interaction with the media is also anticipated during his arrival.

The two engagements will bring the Union Home Minister to different parts of Punjab on the same day, with security arrangements and movement plans being coordinated around his scheduled programmes.
