“No Eligible Voter Left Behind”: Haryana Organises Special Camps and Door-to-Door Drive on October 8–9 for Timely Electoral Roll Notice Disposal

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh) — Under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign across Haryana, the election authorities have accelerated efforts to achieve the time-bound disposal of pending voter list notices and hearings. Special camps held across the state heard approximately 28,000 pending cases on Wednesday as part of an initiative to ensure all eligible citizens are registered ahead of the publication of the final electoral roll on November 6, 2026.

According to official figures, a total of 4,491,923 notices were generated under the SIR drive across Haryana. Of these, 315,173 cases—representing roughly 7.02% of the total—remain pending for hearing. The Election Commission is conducting routine reviews and has instructed designated officials to ensure strict monitoring, adhere to procedural guidelines, and expedite the resolution of pending claims.

Key Highlights of the Campaign

  • Special Camps & Door-to-Door Verification (October 8–9): Dedicated camps and home-visit surveys are being conducted on October 8 and 9 to collect necessary documents and conclude pending notice hearings without delay.
  • Document Submission Appeal: Voters who have received notices but have not yet submitted required verification documents are urged to appear for hearings or submit their paperwork directly to their local Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
  • Final Electoral Roll Publication: The overarching objective of the drive is to ensure no eligible voter is excluded, enabling verified names to be integrated into the final electoral roll scheduled for release on November 6, 2026.
