Singapore’s Technical Expertise and Experience to Accelerate Haryana’s Growth, Says Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh) — Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, met with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday to engage in comprehensive discussions aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation between Haryana and Singapore. The high-level meeting centred on strategic collaboration across critical sectors, including education, skill development, water management, urban planning, technological innovation, and the generation of global employment opportunities for youth.

Expressing his gratitude to Dr. Balakrishnan for the warm hospitality extended by the Singaporean government, Chief Minister Saini highlighted Singapore’s renowned advancements in modern urban governance and sustainable resource management. He stated that Haryana stands to gain significantly from Singapore’s extensive expertise as the state adapts its economic framework to rapid technological shifts.

The Chief Minister noted that institutional partnership with Singapore will bolster Haryana’s capacity to deploy cutting-edge practices in water treatment, conservation, and urban planning. Saini emphasized that combining the natural talent of Haryana’s youth with Singapore’s technical acumen will open fresh pathways for sustainable industrial and urban progress across the state.

Welcoming the delegation, Foreign Minister Balakrishnan reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to strengthening ties with India and Haryana. He assured continued support in advancing skill development programmes designed to prepare local youth for international job markets. Both leaders agreed on accelerating joint initiatives in technical education and infrastructure innovation to drive long-term regional development.
