Haryana to Launch Month-Long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Celebrating 25 Years of Modi’s Governance

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Friday that the state will conduct an expansive month-long public outreach campaign titled “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” from September 17 to October 17, 2026. The initiative marks the completion of 25 consecutive years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure in constitutional executive governance, which commenced on October 7, 2001, when he assumed office as Chief Minister of Gujarat. Addressing a press conference in Panchkula alongside Media Advisors Rajiv Jaitly and Parveen Atrey, as well as BJP District President Ajay Mittal, Saini underscored that the campaign aims to take welfare achievements directly to every household while actively mobilizing civic participation for the national vision of a developed India.

The state-wide observance begins on September 17, designated as Seva Diwas to coincide with the Prime Minister’s birthday. The opening day features extensive voluntary blood donation drives across districts, concluding with a synchronized public gesture in the evening where families throughout Haryana are encouraged to light an “Aashirwad Ka Diya” at 7:00 PM outside their homes as an expression of gratitude. Between September 17 and October 7, educational institutions will host drawing and elocution competitions, while October 2 will feature village-level street plays, musical performances, and interactive dialogues highlighting transformative human stories. From September 25 to October 7, “Aangan Milan Seva” assemblies will honour grassroots community health personnel, including Anganwadi and ASHA workers, alongside maternal and child care drives.

Civic mobilization forms a core component of the program, with citizens encouraged to dedicate at least 25 minutes of voluntary public service toward causes such as tree planting, community sanitisation, mentoring underprivileged children, road safety drives, or educating elderly residents in digital skills. Inter-state service journeys passing through ten states will bridge the Prime Minister’s birthplace in Vadnagar with his parliamentary constituency in Varanasi along twenty designated routes. Concurrently, assembly-level camps will provide single-window access to federal and state welfare schemes. The campaign also incorporates a dedicated Innovation Challenge to connect grassroots inventors and youth start-up founders with a national exhibition platform, culminating in a mega valedictory summit on October 17 involving an estimated 125,000 village heads and elected representatives from across India.

Highlighting regional infrastructure expansion, Saini noted that the central administration has sanctioned projects valued at ₹86,000 crore for Haryana, complemented by over ₹7 lakh crore disbursed through central welfare schemes over the past 12 years. Major completed and ongoing developments include the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, the Western and Eastern Peripheral Expressways, regional metro corridors, elevated railway tracks in Rohtak and Kurukshetra, the National Cancer Institute in Jhajjar, AIIMS in Rewari, and the recent deployment of the country’s first hydrogen-powered train on the Jind–Sonipat corridor. The Chief Minister affirmed that national policy over the past quarter-century has delivered measurable structural transformations, moving 250 million citizens out of poverty, securing financial inclusion for over 320 million women, and establishing India as a prominent global manufacturing and innovation hub.
