Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): The farmers’ protest at the Chandigarh–Punjab border entered its third day on Wednesday, with a large number of farmers from Punjab continuing their sit-in over a range of pending demands.
The week-long demonstration, organised by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), began on September 1 and is scheduled to continue until September 7. Farmers have gathered at the border as part of their ongoing efforts to press the government to address issues they say remain unresolved.
Protesting farmers said they have yet to receive a response or an official statement from the government regarding their demands. The lack of communication has added to concerns among the demonstrators, who have maintained their presence at the protest site.
The gathering has brought farmers from different parts of Punjab to the Chandigarh border, where the sit-in is expected to continue for the remainder of the week.
Farmers affiliated with the protest have indicated that they intend to continue their demonstration until they receive a response from the authorities. For now, the focus remains on maintaining the week-long protest and drawing attention to their outstanding demands.
