Harmanpreet Singh Khokhar of ASAP was elected President, while Jobanpreet Singh Sohi of the USO-ASAP alliance won Vice-President and Savitaz Kaur of the SOPU-ASAP alliance secured General Secretary, underlining a decisive mandate for the ASAP-led alliance. The Student Front finished second and ABVP third, while ASAP also secured the second position in the Morning Department President’s election.
The result marks a strong performance by ASAP in the Evening Department, with Harmanpreet Singh Khokhar securing the top position in the presidential contest. The Student Front finished second, while ABVP stood third in the race for the President’s post.
Harmanpreet Singh Khokhar’s victory as President, Jobanpreet Singh’s election as Vice-President and Savitaz Kaur’s victory as General Secretary gave the ASAP-led panel a decisive presence across the key office-bearer positions in the Evening Department.
The outcome assumes added significance in the backdrop of the results of the Morning Department elections at Panjab University, Chandigarh, where the ASAP panel finished second in the contest for the President’s post after losing to ABVP. ASAP, however, responded strongly in the Evening Department, returning to the top with a comprehensive victory in the presidential election and victories in two other major office-bearer posts.
In the Evening Department, the ASAP panel’s successful candidates were:
- President: Harmanpreet Singh Khokhar — ASAP
- Vice-President: Jobanpreet Singh — USO, in alliance with ASAP
- General Secretary: Savitaz Kaur — SOPU, in alliance with ASAP
The Morning Department results at Panjab University, Chandigarh, also saw the ASAP alliance secure two important positions. Arman Bhinder of PUDF, in alliance with ASAP, won the Vice-President post, while Vishal Bamal, contesting as an Independent in alliance with ASAP, won the Joint Secretary post.
The Morning Department results were:
- Vice-President: Arman Bhinder — PUDF, in alliance with ASAP
- Joint Secretary: Vishal Bamal — Independent, in alliance with ASAP
The twin outcomes across the Morning and Evening Department elections underline ASAP’s growing organisational presence in campus politics. While the organisation faced a setback in the presidential contest in the Morning Department at Panjab University, Chandigarh, the decisive performance in the Evening Department, including the victory of Harmanpreet Singh Khokhar for President, demonstrated its ability to consolidate support and make a strong comeback.
These victories have further strengthened the ASAP-led presence in the Evening Department. The performance of the Student Front and ABVP, which finished second and third respectively in the presidential contest, also shaped the final electoral outcome.
With victories across key office-bearer positions and alliance partners securing additional posts, ASAP has emerged from the latest student elections with a strengthened footprint and renewed momentum in student politics.
