Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh)— Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday urged members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly to prioritize meaningful discussions on public welfare and regional growth over disruptive political sloganeering. Addressing the House in response to matters raised by former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Saini emphasized that maintaining parliamentary decorum and focusing on developmental priorities remains the collective responsibility of all elected representatives.
The Chief Minister clarified his remarks from earlier proceedings, noting that he holds senior leaders like Hooda in high regard and intended no personal disrespect. Addressing the ongoing friction with opposition benches, Saini explained that his earlier response was a direct reaction to repeated chants from Congress legislators alleging misconduct by the treasury benches. He reiterated that his statement was solely meant to counter continuous disruptions and that the full legislative record reflects the context of his remarks.
Saini pointed out that despite the assembly speaker inviting legislators to examine video footage inside the speaker’s chamber to establish facts, opposition members continued to raise slogans inside the chamber. Expressing concern over lost legislative time, the Chief Minister reiterated that the assembly floor should serve as a constructive platform to address the socio-economic needs and aspirations of Haryana’s citizens rather than a venue for partisan agitation.
