New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): Punjab’s government schools have undergone a striking transformation, moving far beyond the image of dilapidated buildings, broken furniture and limited facilities. Today, schools equipped with modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, smart boards, swimming pools and quality playgrounds are giving even leading private schools a run for their money.
Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s education model is giving children from both affluent and poor families access to quality education on an equal footing. On Saturday, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal shared videos of three such government schools in Ludhiana, Sangrur and Nawanshahr on X, highlighting the transformation and expressing satisfaction with his party’s work.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said, “Even private schools fall short when compared to these schools. These government schools are transforming the face of education in Punjab.”
Highlighting the scale of the work, he stated, “We have built thousands of such schools across Punjab. People will find it hard to believe that these can actually be government schools. They are beating even the best private schools in the country.”
Expressing his satisfaction with the impact on children from poorer families, the AAP Chief added, “I feel extremely happy that we have done work that is enabling children from poor families to receive the best possible education. The children of labourers, rickshaw pullers, plumbers, electricians, lower middle-class families and the poor are now becoming doctors and engineers.”
