Kathmandu (Rajeev Sharma): Amid the devastating scenes emerging from flood-hit Nepal, a green-painted house has drawn widespread attention after videos appeared to show the structure remaining intact while powerful floodwaters swept through the surrounding area.
The footage, shared extensively on social media, captures muddy water rushing through what appears to be a residential locality. Debris can be seen being carried along by the current, while buildings in the vicinity appear to suffer extensive damage.
At the centre of the footage is the green house, which appears to withstand the force of the water. A family was reportedly inside the building when the flooding intensified, prompting viewers to express concern over their safety.
The first video sparked an outpouring of reactions online. People watching the footage questioned whether those inside the house would be able to escape as the water continued to rise and structures around them were damaged.

A later video reportedly showed the same building still standing after the flooding. Social media users also claimed that the family inside had survived, providing a moment of relief after the initial footage had triggered fears for their safety.
The apparent resilience of the house quickly became a subject of discussion. Many users were struck by the contrast between the structure and the destruction around it, with some crediting the quality of its construction for helping it withstand the floodwaters.
