Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana government has announced financial assistance of up to Rs 4,000 for cotton farmers to encourage the use of micronutrients and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said on Wednesday.
The initiative is aimed at increasing cotton production in the state while helping farmers protect their crops against pest attacks through improved crop-management practices.
Cotton Farmers To Get 50% Subsidy On Agricultural Inputs
Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana said farmers purchasing agricultural inputs for micronutrient application and Integrated Pest Management will be eligible for a 50 per cent subsidy or Rs 2,000 per acre, whichever is lower.
The benefit will be available for a maximum of two acres, taking the total financial assistance available to an eligible farmer to Rs 4,000.
Rana said the initiative is intended to reduce input costs while encouraging cotton growers to adopt recommended practices for crop nutrition and pest management.
Where Can Farmers Purchase Agricultural Inputs?
To claim the subsidy, farmers will have to purchase the required agricultural inputs according to recommendations issued by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar.
The material must be purchased from semi-government agencies, cooperative societies or authorised dealers.
Farmers will then have to upload the purchase bills on the Haryana Agriculture Department’s official portal to claim the financial assistance.
September 15 Deadline To Upload Bills
The Agriculture Department has fixed September 15, 2026, as the last date for eligible farmers to upload their bills.
Rana urged cotton growers to complete the required process before the deadline to ensure they do not miss out on the subsidy.
