Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved a proposal to upgrade the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Daulatabad in Gurugram district into a Community Health Centre (CHC), Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said on Wednesday.
The decision is aimed at expanding access to healthcare facilities for residents of Daulatabad and surrounding villages, allowing patients to avail a wider range of medical services closer to their homes.
Daulatabad CHC To Offer Expanded Healthcare Facilities
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said upgrading the PHC to a CHC would create scope for additional beds, improved diagnostic facilities, emergency healthcare and stronger specialist medical services.
The expansion is also expected to reduce the need for residents of nearby rural areas to travel longer distances for medical treatment that cannot currently be provided at the PHC level.
Rao said the state government’s objective was to make quality healthcare accessible to residents near their homes and strengthen the public health infrastructure across Haryana.
Haryana Government Focuses On Strengthening Health Infrastructure
The Health Minister described the approval as an important step for Daulatabad and surrounding areas, saying it would help improve both the reach and quality of healthcare services.
She said the Haryana government has been taking measures to strengthen health infrastructure in both rural and urban areas as part of its broader “Swasth Haryana” objective.
Following the Chief Minister’s approval, the Daulatabad facility will be developed from a primary-level health centre into a community-level healthcare facility with expanded services.
