New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has issued a statement on X regarding the nationwide NEET paper leak protests following violent clashes at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Reacting to the recent police crackdown on demonstrating medical aspirants, the actor expressed deep sorrow over the escalation of violence while extending support to the youth demanding institutional examination reforms. Salman’s intervention adds celebrity weight to the movement, urging authorities to address the students’ concerns directly while warning political parties against hijacking the cause.
Addressing the aftermath of what began as a peaceful demonstration organized alongside student groups, including the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Salman stated he felt pained by visuals of injured students and police personnel. He highlighted that recurring paper leaks represent a severe institutional failure that undermines the aspirations of millions of young candidates. Expressing sympathy for the affected aspirants and their families, he commended the unity shown by students nationwide, describing their agitation as a necessary stand for educational integrity.
In his social media post, Salman emphasized that paper leaks remain a serious issue and expressed appreciation for the youth coming together to demand a better educational system with the backing of their parents. He also issued a stern warning against political entities attempting to exploit student frustration for partisan gains, arguing that the crisis remains an internal issue between students and examination administrators. Echoing concerns previously raised by public figures like Anupam Kher, Harsh Beniwal, and Mumbiker Nikhil, the actor asserted that all credit for challenging systemic flaws belongs exclusively to the students who took to the streets.
Beyond addressing the immediate crisis, Salman outlined a vision for the country’s academic landscape, advocating for quality education to become a major cultural priority. He suggested that making learning aspirational and valued would help transform India into a global education hub that attracts international scholars. Concluding his message with support for the student community, Salman’s statement joins a growing wave of responses from the entertainment industry—including actors Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, and Prakash Raj—demanding systemic overhauls and stricter legal frameworks from examination authorities like the National Testing Agency (NTA).
