Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Civil Aviation Minister Vipul Goel chaired the 8th Board of Directors meeting of the Haryana Airports Development Corporation Limited in Chandigarh, approving key proposals to expand regional aviation infrastructure and administrative frameworks. Joining senior administrative leadership—including Additional Chief Secretaries G. Anupama, A.K. Singh, and Arun Kumar Gupta—the board reviewed progress across civil aviation initiatives designed to enhance regional transit, tourism, and business connectivity throughout the state.
A central priority of the board meeting was the planned expansion of helicopter-based services across Haryana, focusing on emergency medical evacuation, public transport, and regional tourism networks. The board evaluated upgrade plans for helipads located near major medical institutions in Faridabad, Karnal, Sonipat, Gurugram, and Rohtak, aiming to establish seamless air ambulance operations in close coordination with the Health Department. Minister Goel directed civil aviation personnel to enforce strict execution timelines and quality standards across all ongoing projects to maximize economic benefits for local communities.
Beyond medical transport, the administration discussed expanding regional air routes and developing specialized facilities to establish Haryana as a major regional aviation hub. Plans include advancing infrastructure at Hisar’s integrated aviation hub and improving local airstrips to increase commercial and emergency access. By establishing modern helicopter links and enhancing operational capabilities, the department aims to create new investment opportunities while bolstering emergency healthcare logistics across the state.
