Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): Punjab-based content creator and makeup artist Med Sandhu has once again found himself at the centre of public attention after a recorded phone conversation with Nihang leader Manpreet Singh Khalsa surfaced online. The audio clip, now widely shared across social media platforms, has sparked debate over personal identity, cultural values and the influence of digital creators on young audiences.
In the conversation, Manpreet Singh Khalsa questioned Med Sandhu over his earlier social media content and appearance, expressing concern that such videos could have an impact on youngsters. He urged the influencer to publicly state that he had moved away from his previous style of content and would refrain from posting material that, in his view, could send the wrong message.
Med Sandhu responded by saying that he had already made significant changes in both his personal presentation and online content. He maintained that many of the clips currently circulating on social media were old videos that were repeatedly being reshared by others, resulting in unnecessary controversy despite his efforts to change.
The discussion also touched on Sandhu’s attire, public image and identity. Khalsa suggested that the influencer issue a fresh video message clarifying his current stand and encouraging positive values among his followers. Sandhu replied that he was presently in Mumbai attending a professional makeup course and would be willing to address the issue after returning to Punjab.
During the exchange, Med Sandhu defended himself by saying he had never encouraged anyone to imitate his lifestyle. He also remarked that certain aspects of his personality were natural and added that he had already modified the things he personally believed required change.
Sandhu further pointed to an earlier controversy involving a proposed Pride-related event in Amritsar, claiming that he had opposed its organisation at the time but still faced criticism from various quarters. He insisted that he had never used his platform to promote any specific lifestyle.
As the conversation progressed, both sides appeared to soften their tone. Manpreet Singh Khalsa clarified that his concerns were focused on preserving Punjab’s cultural ethos rather than targeting Med Sandhu personally. The influencer, on the other hand, expressed readiness to issue a statement clarifying his current position and distancing himself from content that continues to be recirculated online.
The viral recording has generated extensive discussion on social media, with users expressing sharply divided opinions. While some supported the call for cultural responsibility, others defended an individual’s right to self-expression. Neither Med Sandhu nor Manpreet Singh Khalsa has released any additional official statement after the clip gained widespread attention.
