Sangrur (Gurpreet Singh): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday called upon Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers to remain vigilant during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, pointing out that the BJP could attempt to delete the votes of AAP supporters to influence the outcome of future elections. The Chief Minister also highlighted the AAP Government’s pro-people initiatives, asserting that these measures have significantly improved the lives of people across the state. He urged party karyakartas to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and expressed confidence that the AAP would return to power with an overwhelming mandate in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.

Sharing a few snippets from this meeting, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated on X: “Met with our party’s backbone, our dedicated volunteers, in Sangrur today. We had an open and detailed discussion about the work being carried out in their respective constituencies. I urged every volunteer to work with even greater determination and continue serving the people wholeheartedly. The enthusiasm and commitment of our volunteers are the party’s greatest strength. Those colleagues who have worked tirelessly on the ground, day and night, will receive the respect they deserve within the organisation and will be entrusted with important responsibilities in the days ahead. Heartfelt thanks to everyone for your love, support, and unwavering commitment. Inquilab Zindabad.”
Addressing the gathering, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has commenced in Punjab from June 25, making the responsibility of every party volunteer even more crucial. He said that through the SIR process, the BJP may attempt to delete the votes of AAP supporters to capture power in the upcoming elections in the state. “This has become the standard operating procedure of the BJP to win elections. Every volunteer must remain vigilant and ensure that not a single genuine vote is deleted,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Minister said that the AAP Government remains firmly committed to the welfare and well-being of the people and has taken several pro-people initiatives since assuming office. He said that to encourage youth participation in sports and eradicate the menace of drugs, around 3,100 sports grounds across the state will be completed and made operational by July 15. “Our fight is against the combined alliance of the Akali Dal, BJP and Congress, who have no agenda except capturing power and plundering Punjab,” he added.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann urged party volunteers to remain united and confront the opposition with determination while taking the policies and achievements of the state government to every household. He said that the opposition has only one agenda, which is to malign him, and is stooping to the lowest level by circulating fake videos. “Our government’s policies have substantially reduced both household and agricultural expenses of the people, and this is why the opposition is rattled,” he said.
Highlighting key achievements of the AAP government, he said that keeping public convenience as the highest priority, the government has shut down 19 toll plazas, resulting in daily savings of nearly ₹70 lakh for the people. He further said that the government has provided more than 68,000 government jobs to youth through a completely transparent recruitment process. He added that 90 % of households are receiving free electricity, farmers are getting uninterrupted daytime power supply, around 44,000 kilometres of roads are being constructed across the state, and several other development works are progressing at a rapid pace.
The Chief Minister further said that the canal irrigation network has been significantly strengthened and there is no shortage of canal water for the agriculture sector. He also said that the government has launched an ambitious programme to gradually replace overhead electricity lines with an underground power distribution system across Punjab.
Expressing confidence in the people’s support, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the love and affection of Punjabis would ensure a resounding victory for the Aam Aadmi Party in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. “AAP will win more than 100 seats in the next Assembly elections,” he said while giving a clarion call to party karyakartas to pull up their socks and work tirelessly to bring the party back to power with an even bigger mandate.
