West Bengal Foundation Day Celebrated With Cultural Grandeur At Haryana Lok Bhawan

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): West Bengal Foundation Day was celebrated with deep cultural enthusiasm and official dignity at Haryana Lok Bhawan in Chandigarh, emerging as a powerful event that strengthened the core spirit of national integration under the central government’s initiative. The high-profile event was graced by Haryana Governor Professor Asim Kumar Ghosh, First Lady Mitra Ghosh, and Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and his spouse Suman Saini also attended the celebrations alongside Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Singh Kalyan and Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana.

Addressing the gathering, Haryana Governor Asim Kumar Ghosh extended warm wishes and stated that West Bengal remains a profound powerhouse of India’s cultural, intellectual, and spiritual consciousness. He emphasized that the state did not merely participate in the Indian Renaissance but actively spearheaded it, contributing incomparably to social reform, education, literature, arts, and the freedom struggle. The Governor noted that India’s core strength lies in its cultural unity amidst diversity, and such collaborative inter-state celebrations successfully reinforce national harmony.

Echoing similar sentiments, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing the innovative concept of celebrating various state foundation days across Raj Bhawans and government centers nationwide. Kataria added that this administrative vision provides an invaluable platform for citizens to explore, understand, and respect the unique traditions, languages, and heritage of different regions, ultimately binding the country closer together.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini paid rich tributes to the iconic luminaries of West Bengal whose contributions fundamentally shaped the nation’s modern identity. Saini noted that Bengal is the sacred soil that gave the world Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, whose poetry awakened the nation’s soul, and Swami Vivekananda, whose historical spiritual discourses elevated India’s global stature. He also invoked the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, whose revolutionary call for independence continues to inspire patriotism across generations, alongside the spiritual light of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that West Bengal, backed by its rich intellectual heritage, energetic youth base, and strategic geographical location, will play a pioneering role in realizing the national vision of a self-reliant and developed India by 2047. He reiterated the central administration’s vision to position Bengal as the core engine of growth for eastern India under its comprehensive development plans. The event concluded with a series of captivating cultural performances featuring traditional folk dances and music presented by the artists of Mishti Adda and Pandit Subhash Ghosh’s troupe.
