Second Police Encounter in Two Days Leads to Arrest of Two More Accused in Pinjore Investigation

Panchkula (Balwinder Singh): The crackdown in a case registered at the Pinjore police station gathered momentum on Wednesday after two more suspects were apprehended following a police operation in the Alipur industrial area. The arrests came after an alleged exchange of fire between the accused and law enforcement personnel, officials said.

The accused, identified as Deepesh of Charkhi Dadri and Yogesh of Bhiwani, had been evading arrest in connection with FIR No. 163/26. Their capture follows the detention of two other suspects, Ashish and Viren, during a separate operation carried out a day earlier.

Police officials said the latest action was the result of sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering. Investigators had received information suggesting that the duo would be passing through the HSIIDC industrial zone near Alipur, prompting a special team to move into position.

As officers attempted to intercept them, the suspects allegedly tried to break through the police cordon and opened fire. The police responded, leading to a brief encounter. The two men were subsequently overpowered and taken into custody.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Amrinder Singh, who oversaw the operation, said the arrests marked another important development in the ongoing investigation. He noted that the police team acted swiftly after receiving reliable information regarding the suspects’ movements.

A search conducted after the arrests led to the recovery of a .32-bore Beretta pistol and two live rounds of ammunition. The weapon has been seized and will undergo forensic examination as part of the investigation.

With the latest operation, the number of accused arrested in the case has risen to four within a period of less than 48 hours. Investigators are now focusing on uncovering the broader circumstances surrounding the case and determining whether additional individuals were involved.

Police sources said interrogations are expected to provide further leads regarding the procurement of the firearm, the activities of the accused and any possible criminal links beyond the current case.

Authorities have not ruled out more arrests as the investigation progresses. Multiple teams are continuing to follow leads to identify any remaining suspects connected to the FIR.

The swift series of arrests is being viewed as a significant breakthrough for the Panchkula police, who have intensified efforts to trace individuals named in the case and bring them before the law.
