Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, declaring that the countdown for the ruling administration has officially begun. Addressing a massive ‘OBC Mahasammelan’ in Abohar, Saini asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s recent victory in the Abohar municipal corporation elections marks the dawn of political transformation in the state. He predicted that the BJP would form the next government in Punjab, promising that not a single drug peddler would be left operating in the state once the party assumes power.
During his address, the Chief Minister dismissed the Punjab government’s ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign as a complete failure, accusing the administration of remaining engrossed in hollow slogans and advertising. Saini further criticized the state’s welfare initiatives, claiming that the promised ₹1,000 monthly allowance for women remained a political gimmick with registration yet to commence. He alleged political negligence toward Abohar, stating that the allocation of ₹5 crore to its municipal corporation was an insult to its residents, contrasting it with the higher development funds provided to small villages by the Haryana government.
Saini extended his criticism to AAP’s central leadership, stating that the mask of honesty has slipped from party chief Arvind Kejriwal. He also challenged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s claims of providing 65,000 jobs over five years, countering that the Haryana government had successfully delivered 55,000 youth jobs within the last year alone. Saini assured voters that if Punjab embraces the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state would witness robust minimum support price crop procurement, fair compensation for crop damage, and a thriving industrial environment to regain its position as the country’s top state.
The convention also highlighted the BJP’s commitment to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community. Saini pointed out that under Prime Minister Modi, the OBC Commission received constitutional status, and a 27% reservation was implemented in medical and higher education. He noted that the party values the community as leaders rather than a vote bank, highlighting the presence of 27 OBC ministers in the Union Cabinet and five OBC Chief Ministers leading BJP-governed states. Haryana Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa also spoke at the event, highlighting the severe social toll of substance abuse observed during his visits to local villages and urging a collective shift toward the BJP to rescue Punjab from the drug crisis.
