Gurpreet Singh :- Actor Yograj Singh has approached a Chandigarh court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with an FIR registered against him over the alleged use of objectionable language against women in the recently released web series Lukkhe.
The controversy erupted after a dialogue from the series went viral on social media, drawing criticism from various quarters. Complainants alleged that the remarks used in the scene were derogatory towards women, following which a case was registered against the actor by Chandigarh Police.
Yograj Singh subsequently filed a petition for anticipatory bail before the Chandigarh district court. Taking up the matter, the court issued a notice to Chandigarh Police and sought the relevant records and response from the investigating agency. The matter is now scheduled for further hearing on May 20.
The FIR was reportedly lodged after two advocates from Chandigarh submitted a formal complaint based on a viral clip from the web series circulating online. Following the complaint, Police Station Sector-36 registered the case against the actor.
The web series Lukkhe, released on May 8, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video, has remained under controversy over one of its scenes in which Yograj Singh is alleged to have used offensive language targeting women.
