Haryana Emerges as Global Export Hub; Government Delegation to Visit Tanzania

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Foreign Cooperation, Rao Narbir Singh, announced on Wednesday that the state is rapidly establishing itself as a dominant force in global trade. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state has recorded an unprecedented 395% increase in exports over the last decade. Highlighting this international expansion, the Minister stated that a high-level government delegation is scheduled to visit Tanzania on May 5 to participate in the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, where a dedicated Haryana Pavilion will showcase the state’s industrial prowess.

The upcoming seven-day mission to Tanzania aims to tap into the vast potential of the African market, particularly in the sectors of mining, minerals, and cost-effective agriculture. The delegation will include progressive farmers, traders, and representatives from the IT and pharmaceutical industries, with plans to sign several Memoranda of Understanding to formalize cooperation. Minister Rao Narbir Singh noted that the “Go-Global” approach is designed to transform Haryana from a mere production center into a comprehensive global investment hub, leveraging the state’s robust industrial policies and investor-friendly environment.

To further incentivize local exporters, the Haryana government has introduced several major policy enhancements. The annual cap for the Export Freight Subsidy Support has been tripled from ₹10 lakh to ₹30 lakh per unit, significantly reducing logistics costs for international trade. Additionally, industrial units that export more than 80% of their production will receive special state recognition. These measures are intended to bolster the competitiveness of Haryana-based products in the global marketplace and provide “Export Booster” facilities to emerging entrepreneurs.

The Minister also unveiled the “MSME Global Industries Matching Program,” a new initiative specifically designed to bridge the gap between small-scale local industries and the international market. For the first time, a “Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet” will be organized, providing Haryana’s micro, small, and medium enterprises with a direct platform to interact with global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and international buyers. This structured approach aims to ensure that the benefits of global trade reach the grassroots level of the state’s industrial sector.

The high-level stakeholder meeting was attended by senior officials, including Principal Secretary Amneet P. Kumar and Director General of Agriculture Raj Narayan Kaushik. The administration reiterated its commitment to providing transparent and practical support for international cooperation. As part of this vision, the government is focusing on creating 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) by 2030, ensuring that Haryana continues to lead India’s next phase of industrial and export-driven growth.
