Chandigarh Schools Receive New Wave of Threat Emails; Security Checks Find No Danger

Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): A fresh round of threatening emails sent to multiple schools in Chandigarh on Thursday morning prompted swift action from security agencies, with Saupin’s School among the institutions affected.

Soon after the alerts surfaced, police teams and bomb detection units were deployed across campuses to conduct exhaustive checks. Officials later confirmed that no hazardous or suspicious items were discovered, and all locations were deemed safe for students and staff.

Sources indicated that the emails carried disturbing and inflammatory content, seemingly designed to spread fear rather than indicate a real threat. Authorities are treating the messages as part of a pattern aimed at causing unnecessary panic in the city.

The development comes days after a similar incident on April 7, when several schools—including St. Stephen’s School, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Shivalik Public School, and Ryan International School—received identical threats that were later declared hoaxes.

Investigators are now examining links between the latest emails and the earlier ones, which were reportedly sent from an unverified email account. Previous threats had also mentioned potential attacks on key locations, including educational institutions and administrative offices.

Officials have urged residents and parents not to panic, assuring that precautionary measures are in place. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to trace the origin of the emails and prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
