Gurpreet Singh :- Police said on Thursday that a road rage incident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district turned violent after a dispute between occupants of a car and a Delhi-bound bus, leaving four people injured and leading to the arrest of three accused.
The incident occurred near Thural village on Wednesday night when the accused, travelling in a car, attempted to overtake the bus but were unable to do so, which led to an argument. The situation escalated when they allegedly blocked the bus and confronted the driver, conductor and passengers.
During the altercation, the accused reportedly attacked the victims with a sharp weapon, injuring the driver, conductor and two passengers. They are also alleged to have fired shots in the air to intimidate those present, triggering panic at the scene.
Police teams reached the spot promptly and arrested the three accused, identified as Nishan Pal (46) from Hoshiarpur district, Balwinder Singh (45) from Pathankot, and Alish (21).
The injured were taken to Tanda Medical College for treatment. Police have also recovered the weapon used in the attack.
Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan confirmed the development, adding that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with the Arms Act. Further investigation is ongoing.
