Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): A fresh controversy has surfaced within the Aam Aadmi Party after the reshuffle of its Rajya Sabha leadership led to a public disagreement between Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and party MP Raghav Chadha.
The party recently replaced Chadha as Deputy Leader in the Upper House, assigning the responsibility to Ashok Mittal. Soon after, Chadha voiced concerns, suggesting that he was being sidelined and not allowed to effectively represent public issues.
Responding to these claims, Mann countered that the expectations from party representatives include actively raising matters related to Punjab at the national level. He argued that several important concerns, particularly those affecting the state’s finances, were not adequately highlighted.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining unity within the party framework, indicating that deviation from the collective approach could invite disciplinary steps. He added that Chadha’s recent remarks seemed out of sync with the party’s official stance.
The episode has drawn attention to internal dynamics within the party, even as it continues to manage governance in Punjab and expand its political footprint across the country.
