Trump Escalates War of Words With Iran, Claims Tehran ‘Begging’ for Deal Amid Rising Tensions

Washington, DC (Buruea): US President Donald Trump has sharply intensified his rhetoric against Iran, claiming that its leadership is privately seeking a diplomatic resolution while publicly denying any willingness to negotiate.

In a series of strong remarks, Trump asserted that Iran has been “militarily obliterated” and warned that the country has “zero chance of a comeback.” He dismissed Tehran’s official stance on negotiations as incorrect and urged its leadership to engage seriously in talks without delay.

Issuing a stark warning, Trump said the ongoing standoff had reached a critical stage, cautioning that if the deadlock continues, there would be “no turning back,” signalling the possibility of further escalation.

The comments come amid reports of a prolonged conflict between the two sides, with Trump suggesting that back-channel negotiations are underway. Speaking at a dinner with Republican lawmakers, he claimed Iranian officials are eager to strike a deal but are reluctant to acknowledge it publicly due to internal risks.

“They want to make a deal so badly,” Trump said, adding that Iranian leaders fear backlash both domestically and externally if such talks become public.

However, Iran’s leadership has firmly rejected these claims. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran has no intention of entering negotiations under current circumstances and aims to end the conflict on its own terms.

Diplomatic sources indicated that Pakistan has conveyed a 15-point US peace proposal to Tehran, but Iranian officials reportedly responded negatively to the plan.
Reinforcing Washington’s hardline stance, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the US President is prepared to take decisive action if diplomacy fails.

Meanwhile, offering a more cautious outlook, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted that signs of openness to dialogue from both sides provide a “glimmer of hope” for a peaceful resolution.

The situation continues to evolve rapidly, with global attention focused on whether diplomatic channels can prevent further escalation.
