PT Usha’s Husband V Srinivasan Dies at 67

New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): V Srinivasan, husband of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President and Rajya Sabha MP P T Usha, passed away early Friday morning, according to family sources. He was 67.

Sources said Srinivasan collapsed at his home in the early hours and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The exact cause of death has not been officially disclosed.

A former central government employee, Srinivasan was widely regarded as a steadfast support system in P T Usha’s personal and professional life. He stood by her during her legendary athletics career and continued to support her as she took on leadership roles in sports administration and later entered public life.

Those close to the family described him as a private and grounded individual who preferred to stay away from the limelight, despite being closely associated with one of India’s most iconic sportspersons. His encouragement and stability were often credited as key factors behind Usha’s sustained success over decades.

Messages of condolence have been pouring in from the sports fraternity and political leaders, many of whom acknowledged his quiet contribution behind the scenes and expressed solidarity with P T Usha and her family during this difficult time.
