He said the initiative directly concerns crores of rural workers, farmers and hardworking families across the country.
The minister said the objective of the VB G Ram G Act is to support genuine labour beneficiaries who were deprived under previous governments. The Act provides for real-time monitoring of projects and ensures transparency in wage payments. By increasing guaranteed employment days, the scheme offers higher assured wages to workers. He said rural labourers will now work not to fill the coffers of corrupt contractors, officials or politicians, but to contribute to the construction of a developed India.

He said this step aims to improve the standard of living of labourers. On average, an unskilled rural worker across the country will see an annual income increase of more than ₹7,000. In Haryana, where wage rates are higher, each worker will receive at least ₹10,000 more annually.
