Thousands Welcome New Year with Devotion at Calgary Temples

Calgary ( Rajeev Sharma): The New Year was celebrated with great devotion and community participation at the ISKCON Calgary Temple – Radha Madhav Cultural Association (RMCA), and the Hindu Society of Calgary, as thousands of devotees gathered to offer prayers and seek blessings on December 31 and January 1, 2026.

ISKCON Calgary Temple – Radha Madhav Cultural Association Hosts New Year’s Eve Program

The ISKCON Calgary Temple , Radha Madhav Cultural Association (RMCA) organized a special New Year’s Eve program on December 31, from 6:00 PM to midnight.

The program featured devotional kirtan, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere, followed by the distribution of prasadam to devotees.

Krishan Vidyadas of RMCA (ISKCON) informed that a large number of community members attended the event, including prominent dignitaries from the City of Calgary. Devotees from across the city visited the temple to welcome the New Year through prayer and devotion.

Day-Long Devotional Activities on January 1

On January 1, the temple remained open from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, welcoming devotees throughout the day. A continuous kirtan was held, and a Preeti Bhoj (community feast) was organized by various groups of devotees, reflecting the spirit of service and collective harmony.

Hindu Society of Calgary Organizes Sunder Kand Path: The Hindu Society of Calgary also marked the New Year with religious observances. On New Year evening, a Sunder Kand Path was organized at the temple and conducted by Acharya Dinesh Ji. Devotees gathered in large numbers to participate in the recitation and seek blessings for peace and prosperity. HSC , Raj Verma Ji, President of the Temple, stated that thousands of devotees visited the temple on December 31 and January 1, 2026, and received divine blessings. He thanked volunteers and organizers for their dedicated service, which ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programs.

The New Year celebrations at the ISKCON Calgary Temple – Radha Madhav Cultural Association (RMCA) and the Hindu Society of Calgary highlighted the city’s rich cultural and spiritual diversity. The strong participation of devotees reflected the community’s shared commitment to welcoming the New Year with devotion, unity, and a spirit of positivity.
