Vaibhav Suryavanshi Creates History With Explosive 190 in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Patna, December 24, 2025: Teenage prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced a sensational display of power-hitting on Wednesday, smashing a breathtaking 190 off just 84 balls for Bihar in their Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate Group match against Arunachal Pradesh.
The 14-year-old opener dominated the contest from the very start, racing to his century in only 36 deliveries. His blistering innings was studded with 15 towering sixes and 16 boundaries, leaving the opposition bowlers with no answers and turning the match into a one-sided affair on the opening day of the 50-over domestic tournament.
Suryavanshi’s century is now the second-fastest by an Indian in List A cricket. Only Punjab batter Anmolpreet Singh has reached the milestone quicker, having scored a 35-ball hundred against Arunachal Pradesh in 2024.
The extraordinary knock came just three days after Suryavanshi endured a disappointing outing in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup against Pakistan in the UAE. His emphatic response highlighted not only his talent but also his temperament and resilience at such a young age.
The overall record for the fastest List A century continues to be held by Australia’s Jake Fraser-McGurk, who reached three figures in just 29 balls for South Australia against Tasmania during the 2023–24 season. Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers is next on the list with his iconic 31-ball hundred against West Indies in Johannesburg.
With this innings, Suryavanshi also etched his name into the record books as the youngest player ever to score a century in List A cricket, further strengthening his reputation as one of India’s most exciting emerging batting talents.
