Light of Geeta’s Teachings Will Reach the World Through Deepotsav: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, December 1 — Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that celebrating Deepotsav on the banks of the ancient and historic Sannihit Sarovar is a matter of pride for the entire state. He said the festival will help spread the light of the sacred Bhagavad Geeta’s teachings to people across the world, enriching and elevating human life.

Saini was speaking on Monday after offering lamps at Sannihit Sarovar as part of the International Geeta Mahotsav 2025. Before the ceremony, the Chief Minister, along with Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, and former minister Subhash Sudha, performed Deepdaan amid chanting of mantras and the sound of conch shells.

The Chief Minister received a warm welcome from various religious and social organisations upon his arrival for the event. He extended greetings for the International Geeta Mahotsav and said the day is not just special for people of the region but for the entire world. He recalled that Lord Krishna delivered the teachings of the Geeta on the holy land of Kurukshetra, which continues to guide humanity.

Saini said the message of the Geeta has the power to transform life, making it divine and progressive. He expressed gratitude to the officials of Teerthodhdhar Brahmin Mahasabha for organising a grand Deepdaan ceremony and thanked various organisations for lighting thousands of lamps along the Brahmasarovar.

Several dignitaries, including Chairman Dharmveer Mirzapur, Zila Parishad Chairperson Kanwaljit Kaur, and KDB honorary secretary Upendra Singhal, were present during the event.
