CM Nayab Singh Saini Orders Strict Action Against Negligence in Civic Services in Gurugram

15 of 17 Public Complaints Resolved in District Grievance Redressal Committee Meeting; Stern Warning to Tanker Mafia and Erring Builders

Chandigarh, November 10 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that no negligence or laxity in the management of civic services in Gurugram will be tolerated, emphasizing that the state’s fastest-developing city deserves efficient administration and top-quality infrastructure. He directed officials to prepare a detailed report on the city’s current water, sewerage, and sewage treatment plant (STP) conditions, ensuring timely and quality services for every resident.

The Chief Minister was presiding over the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held in Gurugram on Monday. The meeting was also attended by Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar, and Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma. Out of the 17 complaints presented, 15 were resolved on the spot, while two were deferred for the next meeting. Saini ordered status reports on the pending cases to be presented in the following session.

During the meeting, CM Saini issued strict instructions to crack down on the tanker mafia operating in Gurugram. He said illegal water suppliers would not be spared in a modern city like Gurugram. He directed that any individual or group found involved in unauthorized water supply or purification should face immediate legal action. The Chief Minister also ordered the Police Commissioner to ensure that local SHOs take prompt action on citizen complaints related to illegal water supply to guarantee uninterrupted access to clean drinking water.

Taking up complaints related to builders, CM Saini directed that all builders must provide residents with basic amenities — including water, electricity, sewerage, roads, and security — as stipulated in their agreements. He warned that strict action would be taken against those who fail to fulfill these obligations or violate terms of the contract.

Responding to a grievance from a resident of Lokra village in Pataudi about delays in online registration of property mutation (Intkal), Saini ordered an immediate investigation against the concerned Naib Tehsildar. He said that resolving citizens’ problems must remain a top priority and that any officer showing negligence or delay would face disciplinary action.

CM Saini also expressed displeasure over the incomplete sewer project in Bahoda Kalan village, which has remained pending for three years. After hearing complaints from the village sarpanch, Manvir Singh, about the dug-up roads causing severe inconvenience to locals, Saini instructed officials to take strict action against the officer responsible for the delay. He also ordered that the officer’s increment be withheld as a disciplinary measure.

Emphasizing accountability, the Chief Minister said that delays in public welfare projects are unacceptable and directed departments to ensure timely completion of infrastructure works.

Gurugram Mayor Rajrani Malhotra, GMDA Chief Advisor D.S. Dhesi, Divisional Commissioner R.C. Bidhan, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, and CM’s OSD Vivek Kalia were also present at the meeting.
