Chandigarh, October 24 – Faridabad witnessed a historic and spiritual moment as the ‘Charan Suhāve Guru Charan Yatra,’ carrying the sacred pair of Sarbansdani Tenth Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, was received with grandeur. The city resonated with devotion, unity, and service as thousands of devotees gathered to witness the sacred event.
Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini participated in the welcome ceremony at Shri Guru Darbar Sahib Gurudwara, NIT-5, Faridabad. The Chief Minister also welcomed Union Minister Sardar Hardeep Singh Puri on his arrival in Haryana for the journey. Shri Saini honoured the volunteers and devotees with traditional ‘patka’ shawls and paid obeisance at the Gurudwara, including viewing the holy pair of Sahib Ji. Members of the Haryana Shiromani Gurudwara Management Committee, including Sardar Ravinder Singh Rana, and representatives of the Sikh community extended a warm welcome to the Chief Minister.
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the first halt of this revered journey from Delhi to Takht Sri Harmandir Ji, Patna Sahib, was in Faridabad. “A city touched by the Guru’s holy feet becomes a pilgrimage site itself, and today Faridabad has transformed into a sacred destination for millions of devotees,” he said, expressing gratitude to the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee and the organizers of the Yatra.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji: Symbol of Sacrifice, Courage, and Justice
The Chief Minister highlighted that the arrival of the sacred pair symbolizes the energy, sacrifice, and valor of the Tenth Guru, who devoted his life to defending dharma, nation, and humanity. Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s creation of the Khalsa was meant to empower ordinary individuals to fight injustice and protect the weak, leaving a legacy of courage, self-respect, and justice.
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji: Embodiment of Compassion and Strength
Shri Saini emphasized that Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, revered as the mother of the Khalsa, accompanied the sacred journey. She ensured that the Khalsa followers embraced bravery along with compassion and kindness, reflecting the balanced spirit of the community.
A Spiritual Bridge from Delhi to Patna Sahib
The Chief Minister described the ‘Charan Suhāve’ journey as a spiritual and cultural bridge connecting Delhi, the national capital, and Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Haryana Government reaffirmed its commitment to following the Gurus’ path and honoring their sacrifices through celebrations of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 400th Prakash Parv, Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Prakash Parv, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s 350th Prakash Parv.
The state government has also made arrangements to observe the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji across Haryana with devotion and respect. From November 1 to 24, four yatras will commence from different corners of the state, culminating on November 25 at Kurukshetra, a site historically blessed by the Gurus’ presence.
Additionally, Haryana Assembly passed a proposal to provide government jobs to one member of 121 families who lost loved ones during the 1984 riots, demonstrating respect and compassion towards the Sikh community.
The event was attended by former minister and MLA Shri Mool Chand Sharma, Smt. Seema Trikha, Bawal MLA Dr. Krishan Kumar, Chief Minister’s media advisor Shri Rajeev Jetley, Faridabad Mayor Praveen Batra Joshi, and other dignitaries.
