Chandigarh, October 22: In a special event organized by the Haryana government, 100 copies of the Bhagavad Gita (Japanese edition) were presented to Shri Chandru Appa, Consul General of India in Osaka, Japan. The copies were formally handed over by Shri Vikas Pandey, Assistant Professor at Osaka University, and Ms. Nikita, a native of Kurukshetra currently residing in Tokyo.
The event was attended via video conference by Heena Bindlish, Joint Director of the Haryana Government’s Department of Foreign Cooperation; Pawan Chaudhary, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Foreign Affairs; Upendra Singhal, Honorary Secretary of KDB; and Sanjay Garg, General Manager of HSIIDC.
The program featured in-depth discussions on promoting the eternal teachings of the Gita in Japan and other countries. Shri Appa expressed his desire to conduct online Gita teaching courses for Japanese students.
It is noteworthy that the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra will be celebrated from November 15 to December 5, 2025, during which cultural and spiritual programs will be organized across 51 countries. The Haryana delegation requested the CGI Osaka to ensure Japanese participation in the International Gita Mahotsav and the upcoming Surajkund Mela as part of cultural exchange programs between the two countries.
