Mohali (Gurpreet Singh): Popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda continues to remain in critical condition at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, a week after his motorcycle accident near Pinjore left him with serious head and spinal injuries. Hospital officials confirmed Thursday evening that he is still on life support and has not regained consciousness.
The sixth official medical bulletin, released by the hospital, reported that Jawanda’s neurological condition shows no significant improvement. Doctors are administering medications to support his heart function, but his overall condition is being monitored hour by hour.
Despite intensive medical care, his response has been minimal. “The situation remains critical. We are doing everything possible, but at this point, there is no notable change,” hospital staff shared with media.
Jawanda, who was rushed to Fortis after the accident on September 27, has now spent seven days under constant medical supervision. As uncertainty surrounds his recovery, supporters have turned to prayer, with special services and ardaas (prayer ceremonies) being held in gurdwaras across Punjab and elsewhere.
On Thursday, several political figures, including Punjab Congress president Raja Warring, Opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, and Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu, visited the hospital to check on Jawanda’s condition and extend support to his family.
At the same time, Rajvir’s popularity continues to grow online. His Instagram follower count, which stood at 2.4 million before the accident, has surged past 2.6 million in just a few days. His fans are actively sharing his songs, expressing solidarity, and posting messages of hope across platforms.
Despite the overwhelming public support and growing digital presence, doctors remain cautious. Jawanda is still unresponsive and under the care of the hospital’s critical care and neurology teams.
For now, his fans and family can do little but wait and hope for signs of recovery.
