Mumbai (Rajeev Sharma): Celebrating India’s emphatic title win at the Asia Cup 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a Rs 21 crore cash prize for the team and its support staff.
India lifted the Asia Cup trophy after defeating Pakistan by five wickets in a high-voltage final in Dubai on Sunday. The victory capped off a flawless campaign for the Men in Blue, who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.
Speaking to media, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said the award is a token of appreciation for the team’s hard work and consistency on the field.
“This was not just a tournament win — it was a statement. The team delivered under pressure, and as a mark of recognition, the BCCI has decided to grant ₹21 crore to all members of the squad and support staff involved in the Asia Cup,” Saikia said.
India’s path to the title was marked by dominant performances and key contributions from both seasoned players and young talent. Their comprehensive show in the final, especially against a strong Pakistani side, highlighted their form and tactical discipline.
The prize money will be shared among the players, coaches, medical staff, analysts, and other team officials who played a role in preparing the side for the tournament.
This reward also reinforces the BCCI’s ongoing commitment to incentivizing excellence and maintaining high standards in Indian cricket.
The Asia Cup title comes at a crucial time as India prepares for future international fixtures and ICC tournaments, with this victory providing a strong foundation of confidence and momentum.
