Youth Must Embrace Sanatan Culture Over Western Influence: Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam

Chandigarh, September 28: Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam emphasized the importance of promoting Sanatan culture while adhering to its traditions. Speaking at the Sanatan Culture Award Ceremony in Palwal on Sunday, he urged the youth to adopt Sanatan culture instead of Western influences, stay away from intoxicants, and contribute to national and state progress while praying for world peace.

Minister Gautam highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned a developed and self-reliant India, where the role of citizens’ duties is paramount. He stressed that safeguarding the nation and Sanatan culture requires focusing more on civic responsibilities than personal rights. He added that a secure and prosperous Sanatan culture would pave the way for global humanitarian welfare.

To raise awareness among youth, the minister called for explaining the scientific and logical foundations of Sanatan culture, emphasizing respect for nature, ways of living, and core values. He stressed the need for educating young people about Hinduism through texts such as the Gita, Ramayana, Vedas, and Puranas, enabling them to understand the greatness of their heritage and avoid being misled.

Minister Gautam also encouraged youth to make sports an integral part of their lives, promoting discipline, hard work, and dedication. He stated that under Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s leadership, Haryana has emerged as a powerhouse in sports. To support athletes, the state government has established the Haryana Excellent Player Service Rules, 2021, providing secure employment and reservation in direct recruitment for positions from Class 1 to Class 4.

Concluding his address, the minister urged young people to steer clear of drugs, describing substance abuse as a destructive force that not only harms individuals but also destabilizes entire families and communities.
