Chandigarh, September 23 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini directed officials to expedite the construction of the Sikh Museum and Guru Ravidas Museum in Kurukshetra, stressing that the projects should be completed within the set timeline to preserve the teachings and legacy of the Gurus for future generations.
Chairing a review meeting with senior officials, the Chief Minister instructed that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of both museums be finalized at the earliest. He also asked authorities to ensure the inclusion of solar panels in the design, aligning the projects with sustainability goals.
Saini said the Sikh Museum, to be built on three acres of land, would showcase Sikh history, culture, and the invaluable contributions of the Gurus. He emphasized that the museum should realistically depict the historic battles fought to defend faith, justice, and human values, ensuring that stories of sacrifice and struggle continue to inspire future generations.
On the Guru Ravidas Museum, Saini underlined that it must be architecturally grand as well as thematically rich, presenting Sant Ravidas’s life philosophy, spiritual ideas, and message of social harmony in an impactful way. The museum will be built on five acres of land already allotted by the Haryana Urban Development Authority.
The Chief Minister said the projects were crucial to preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Gurus and to educating youth about values of courage, equality, and social unity. He directed departments to prioritize necessary processes so that construction could begin without delay.
The meeting was attended by Chief Principal Secretary to CM Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary of Heritage and Tourism Department Kala Ramachandran, Director General of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department K. Makrand Pandurang, HUDA Chief Administrator Chandrashekhar Khare, Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, CM’s OSD Dr. Prabhleen Singh, and other senior officials.
