Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation Joins Voice of Amritsar for Flood Relief in Punjab

Amritsar, September 11, 2025: Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation, a non-profit widely recognized for supporting acid attack survivors across India, has stepped forward to aid flood-affected communities in Punjab. The foundation is partnering with Amritsar-based NGO Voice of Amritsar (VOA) to carry out relief and rehabilitation efforts in two villages along the banks of the Ravi river, where floods have devastated homes and livelihoods.

Seenu Arora, founding member of VOA, confirmed that Meer Foundation approached them for collaboration on ground-level relief operations. “They are contributing to our project that focuses on distributing household goods such as beds, mattresses, gas stoves, fans, and water purifiers to about 500 flood-affected families. While five villages were shortlisted earlier, work will begin with the two most severely hit,” he said.

The initiative has also received backing from Care Foundation, one of Kolkata’s oldest non-profits. Meanwhile, VOA teams are already active on the ground with doctors from AIIMS, providing medical assistance in Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts.

VOA has been engaged in flood relief by distributing food, dry ration, medicines, and clothes to displaced families. Arora added that the NGO has prepared a comprehensive rehabilitation project and plans to expand its operations as more relief material becomes available.
