Chandigarh, September 3. The Haryana State Disaster Response Force (HSDRF) has once again demonstrated its swift action, teamwork, and courage by rescuing flood-affected people in several districts of the state. Relief and rescue operations were conducted at various locations in Faridabad, Jhajjar, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar, and Bahadurgarh.
Kamulpur Tapu, Yamunanagar
In Yamunanagar district’s village Kamulpur Tapu, the rising water level of the Yamuna River inundated several homes. QRT-1 team was dispatched to the spot under the leadership of Inspector Satish Kumar and ASI Rajesh. The SDRF team quickly evacuated the villagers to safe locations and created barriers using trees and sandbags to prevent further erosion. The swift action saved the village from major damage.
Bajigar Colony, Shahabad (Kurukshetra)
Similarly, a successful rescue operation was conducted in Shahabad’s Bajigar Colony, Markanda area, led by SI Sanjeev Kumar with 10 personnel. During the operation, around 125-170 people, including children, women, elderly, and sick individuals, were safely evacuated and taken to Baba Markandeshwar Temple, where arrangements for food, water, medical care, and shelter were made.
In Faridabad district, several families were affected due to waterlogging in low-lying areas. The SDRF team quickly reached the spot and evacuated people from their homes to higher grounds, prioritizing children and elderly. In Jhajjar district, waterlogging had made life difficult for villagers. The SDRF team conducted a swift relief operation, evacuating affected people to safe locations and focusing on their daily needs, such as drinking water and primary medical care. In Bahadurgarh, SDRF and local police teams worked in coordination, quickly evacuating flood-affected people to safe locations and providing them with temporary shelter, food, and medical care. The MI drain had burst, causing water to inundate several areas and affecting many people. In Ambala district, the SDRF team conducted rescue operations in villages where the water level had suddenly risen, and several families were stranded. The team used boats and other resources to evacuate people and provide primary medical care.
In every district, SDRF teams worked in coordination with local police and administration to conduct relief operations. Swift coordination, better strategy, and 24×7 monitoring helped prevent loss of life.
The rescue operations conducted today not only saved hundreds of lives but also instilled a sense of trust and security among affected families. The swift action of SDRF is being appreciated across the state.
