Amritsar (Gurpreet Singh): In a major success against cross-border smuggling networks, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police has arrested a suspected arms courier and seized a cache of weapons meant to fuel unrest in Punjab. The accused, identified as Amit Singh of Guru Ki Wadali, Chheharta, was caught with five Glock pistols, four magazines, and a motorcycle used in the operation.
Initial investigations have revealed that Amit Singh was working in close coordination with his associate Gurpreet Singh alias Ginny. The duo had established links with Pakistan-based smugglers who have been attempting to push consignments of illegal weapons into India to disturb peace and social harmony in the border state.
Senior police officials stated that the swift operation has not only prevented a major crime but also provided vital leads to uncover a larger smuggling network. Further arrests and recoveries are expected as teams continue to follow the trail.
Punjab DGP emphasized that this action once again demonstrates the force’s determination to safeguard the state. “The Punjab Police will not allow anti-national elements or their supporters to succeed in their designs. We remain steadfast in our drive against narco-terror networks and gangsters,” he said.
The successful recovery highlights the vigilance and proactive approach of Punjab Police in neutralizing threats before they can cause damage. Authorities assured citizens that strict measures are being taken to strengthen border security and ensure peace across the state.
