Stopping a Sikh Wearing Kirpan from Entering Red Fort is Unfortunate: Giani Raghubir Singh

National Times Bureau :- Sri Harmandar Sahib’s Head Granthi, Giani Raghubir Singh, has condemned the denial of entry to Sarpanch Gurdhian Singh at the Independence Day function in Red Fort, after he was stopped for carrying a kirpan. Calling it “deeply unfortunate,” he said it was a matter of concern that Sikhs still face such discrimination decades after Independence.

He also appealed to shopkeepers not to sell rumals with the Khanda symbol, as many are discarded on roads, amounting to disrespect of the faith. “Devotees should know their pilgrimage is complete by bowing before Guru Sahib. Offering a Rumala Sahib is not mandatory,” he clarified.

Giani Raghubir Singh praised SGPC’s flood relief efforts and urged kar sewa groups to extend support. On former Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh entering politics, he remarked that service to the Guru should never be compromised for politics
