National Times Bureau :- A full-dress rehearsal for the 79th Independence Day celebrations took place on Wednesday at the grounds of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. The parade was led and the flag hoisted by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain.
Under the guidance of Parade Commander PPS Officer Harshpreet Singh, various contingents participated in the march-past, including Punjab Police (men and women), Punjab Home Guard, NCC Scouts (boys and girls), and other units. DCP Parminder Singh Bhandal and ADC Rakesh Kumar were also present during the rehearsal.
Following the march-past, 850 students from 25 government schools performed an impressive Physical Training (PT) display. Students from Government High School Dhandari, Spring Dale School, BVM School, DAV School, and 16 other institutions presented a colorful cultural program showcasing patriotism and national pride.
A few minutes after the full-dress rehearsal, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain held a meeting at the stadium with various departments to finalize arrangements for the district-level Independence Day function. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the event is conducted flawlessly.
Himanshu Jain instructed all concerned departments to make sincere efforts to ensure smooth organization and execution of the celebrations. He also highlighted the significance of planning and coordination in delivering a seamless program. Minister Aman Arora will preside over the district-level Independence Day event on August 15, 2025.
