Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini Vows Inclusive Development, Credits PM Modi's Guidance

Chandigarh (National Times): Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has reaffirmed his commitment to equitable development across the state, emphasizing that he draws regular guidance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure progress without discrimination.

Addressing a gathering of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community at his official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh on Sunday, CM Saini said, “It is my priority to develop every corner of Haryana equally and ensure that no one is left behind.”

He highlighted that under the BJP-led state government, over two lakh government jobs have been provided purely on merit, ensuring that children from poor families are selected without bribes or political influence.

“The BJP government has ended the culture of ‘slip’ and ‘sifarish’ (recommendations) in government recruitments. The youth of Haryana are getting jobs based on their hard work and talent,” he said.

Praise from the OBC Community

During the event, members of the OBC community honored the Chief Minister with a traditional turban, thanking him for implementing various welfare schemes and standing firmly for backward class rights.

Acknowledging the gesture, Saini said, “This turban is a symbol of respect and trust. I will work even harder to uphold this honor under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.”

His wife, Suman Saini, also addressed the gathering, saying, “This house belongs to all of you. The doors of the Chief Minister’s residence are always open to the people of Haryana.”

Slams Past Governments, Highlights Inclusion

Taking a swipe at previous administrations, CM Saini said OBCs were long treated as a vote bank, but the BJP government has empowered them with real rights and representation.

“Earlier, vacancies meant for backward classes were left unfilled with the excuse of ‘no qualified candidates’. Today, we have recruited professors, doctors, and engineers from these communities,” he said.

The CM urged people to ignore opposition propaganda, saying, “We have been given a third consecutive term by the people. We will not let them down.”

CET, Transport Arrangements Announced

Saini also informed attendees that for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) scheduled on July 26–27, the government is arranging free bus transport for candidates and their guardians, especially for female examinees.

“We are changing the environment around education and jobs. The youth will be our strength going forward,” he added.

BJP Expands Support Among Backward Classes

Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa announced that the state has raised the creamy layer income cap for OBC reservations from ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh, aligning with central norms.

Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra credited the government’s policies to the vision of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, saying the focus remains on uplifting the most marginalized sections.

In a significant development, Satbir Bhana, an independent candidate from Pundri, formally joined the BJP during the event.

The gathering was also attended by Chief Minister’s OSD Bharat Bhushan Bharti, former mayor Madan Chauhan, and BJP leader Jawahar Saini, who outlined various ongoing welfare schemes for the OBC community.

The event concluded with several OBC leaders, including Satbir Verma, Devendra Panchal, Yashpal, Poonam Saini, and Shyam Lal Jangra, ceremonially placing a turban on the Chief Minister, marking a powerful gesture of unity and trust.
