New Delhi (National Times): A mild earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Haryana’s Jhajjar district on Thursday morning, with tremors felt across several parts of the Delhi-NCR region.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the quake occurred at 9:04 AM, with its epicentre located 3 km northeast of Jhajjar, approximately 51 km west of Delhi. The quake originated at a depth of 10 km below the surface.
Residents in parts of Delhi, Gurugram, Rohtak, Panipat, Hisar, and Meerut reported feeling the tremors. While the earthquake caused brief panic in some areas, there have been no reports of casualties or significant damage so far.
Authorities are monitoring the situation, and residents have been advised to remain alert but not panic.
