Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora Assigned Industry and NRI Affairs Portfolios

Chandigarh (National Times): In a significant political development, newly elected Ludhiana MLA Sanjeev Arora took oath as a Cabinet Minister in the Punjab government today. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan, where Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria administered the oath in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other dignitaries.

According to information, Sanjeev Arora has been entrusted with the Industry and NRI Affairs portfolios. The NRI department, previously held by Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal, has now been reassigned to Arora — a move seen as the Aam Aadmi Party’s attempt to energize its industrial and diaspora outreach with fresh leadership.

Sanjeev Arora, a prominent industrialist-turned-politician, recently won the Ludhiana by-election by a wide margin, securing AAP’s urban stronghold in the region. His elevation to the Cabinet within days of his win reflects the party’s confidence in his administrative capabilities and deep roots in Punjab’s business landscape.

This portfolio reshuffle marks a renewed focus on economic development and international collaboration, especially with a spotlight on industrial revival and engaging the vast Punjabi diaspora. Arora’s appointment comes at a critical juncture as Punjab looks to attract investments and create new employment opportunities through industrial expansion.
