Accusations of cultural insensitivity have been levelled against certain scenes and dialogues in the movie, prompting screening cancellations and calls for a ban. The controversy began when religious and political groups objected to specific depictions in the film, claiming they were offensive to cultural and religious sentiments. In response, some theatres halted showings amid growing public demonstrations.

We will not tolerate anyone trying to malign the dignity of one of our own.” Popular singer Jasmine Sandlas also weighed in: “Artists like Diljit have taken our voice to the global stage. These accusations are an insult to years of his hard work.”
