Ludhiana, June 14 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Punjab and Haryana can together contribute significantly to the vision of a developed India, urging closer cooperation between the two neighbouring states. He made the remarks while addressing industrialists and intellectuals at a gathering organised by the All Industrialist Society in Ludhiana, where he was welcomed with enthusiasm.
Saini praised Punjab as a land of saints, warriors, and seers that has historically guided the country through its ideals and resilience. “The time has come for both Punjab and Haryana to strengthen their industrial partnership and work together toward India’s development journey,” he said.
The Chief Minister used the occasion to highlight the accomplishments of the central government over the past decade. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he said, India has witnessed historic changes, citing the abrogation of Article 370, restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir, and the guaranteed purchase of crops at minimum support price (MSP) for farmers.
He accused opposition parties of misleading the public under the guise of constitutional concerns and insisted that the country remains secure and united under the current central government.
Focusing on Haryana’s industrial progress, Saini said the state has created a conducive environment for businesses by offering all necessary services and clearances under one roof. He announced that the state budget includes provisions for new Integrated Manufacturing Townships (IMTs) in ten districts and that a fast-track system has been implemented to issue NOCs within 15 days. He assured that resolving industry-related concerns remains a top priority for his administration.
Discussing welfare schemes, Saini informed the audience that over 1.5 crore Ayushman and Chirayu cards have been issued in Haryana, benefitting more than 22 lakh people with free medical treatment. The state has spent over ₹2,500 crore on healthcare services through these schemes. He also noted that citizens above 70 years are now entitled to medical coverage of up to ₹10 lakh.
The Ujjwala scheme, he said, has provided free LPG cylinders to over 13 lakh women in the state, while initiatives such as Jan Dhan Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission continue to offer tangible improvements in people’s lives.
Addressing the business community directly, the Chief Minister said his recent meetings with industrialists from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh have influenced policy considerations. He affirmed that the government will respect and implement constructive suggestions to make industrial growth more inclusive and responsive to industry needs.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the state’s commitment to industrial development, healthcare reforms, and broader cooperation with Punjab in national interest.
