Chandigarh, May 22, 2025 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of adopting an “arrogant and unjust stance” by refusing to share Haryana’s rightful share of drinking water. Speaking at a press conference in Ladwa, Saini condemned what he called the politicization of a critical public issue, warning that such conduct was unbecoming of a responsible leader.
Saini urged Mann to uphold the principles of the Indian Constitution and comply with the Supreme Court and High Court rulings on the matter. Drawing from religious teachings and India’s cultural reverence for water, he said Punjab must respect both the legal and ethical obligations to provide Haryana its due.
“Water is not just a legal matter, it is a moral and humanitarian one,” Saini remarked, calling for an end to the blockade of Haryana’s drinking water needs.
The Haryana CM also discussed his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that it focused on the state’s development goals. He highlighted progress under the Amrit Station Scheme and other projects aimed at modernizing infrastructure and uplifting regional connectivity.
Taking a dig at the Congress, Saini emphasized that citizens now recognize the difference between past governance and the rapid growth achieved under a decade of BJP rule. He also praised the ongoing Tiranga Yatras, which he said were promoting unity and honoring the sacrifices of India’s armed forces.
The event was attended by senior leaders and administrative officials, including Subhash Sudha, Dharmbir Dagar, and Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh.
